How I argue
Everything on this site rests on a contract I want to state once, plainly, and then honor everywhere.
I anchor my claims to the physics and the mathematics. Where I say the measurement discards the frame, or that rotation survives when conventions are stripped, those claims are defensible on the established record, and I hold them to that standard.
I also own a metaphysics. I do not hide it, and I do not apologize for it. But I do not entail my metaphysics from the physics. The physics constrains; it demolishes certain pictures; it does not deliver my conclusions by force of proof. The step from what measurement discloses to what it means is a step a person takes — and I take it in the open, named as what it is.
I'll add the observation that this is what everyone does. Every scientist, every analyst, every author crosses from description to meaning somewhere. Most simply don't confess where. On this site, the crossing is always labeled: what is disclosed by the record, and what I hold about it, are kept in separate registers — and when I move between them, I say so.
If you catch me violating this contract, write to me. I mean that.
